Where I will explore what would be the main features and characteristics of an 'epistemology of the south', in particular what are or would be the characteristics of African epistemology. It will not be a detailed exploration of a specific African philosophy, but rather a more general analysis and overview of what could legitimately be considered as the 'characteristics of African philosophy' as a whole and in opposition and as alternative to Western philosophy.
In the second part the paper will evaluate the impact of the findings, and see if any of the main characteristics identified can be of use to re-think the state reform in Africa.
The method used will be comparative with non western philosophies and historical.
